A mourner's kit, offered by your vet

A gentle goodbye, and
something to keep.

When a pet dies at the vet, dolēre gives the family a quiet last moment: a paw or nose print, a little fur, whiskers or feathers, and a keepsake to take home the same day.

The moment

By your side during the hardest moment.

When a pet’s time is ending, everything moves too fast. There are decisions to make, goodbyes to say, and then an awful drive home.

dolēre gives families something to hold on to in those moments. There’s no waiting and nothing to arrange. It gives families a gentle way to say goodbye and a small piece of their companion to take with them, so they don’t leave empty-handed on the hardest day.

The kit laid out on bordeaux velvet: a double frame with a golden retriever's photo and paw print, a keychain vial, a locket necklace and a black pouch

Our story

dolēre means “to grieve.” It began in a vet’s room, when I faced losing my own dog and realised there was nothing to hold on to in those final moments.

“When I was a child, my first dog died at home. My mother sat with me while we took his paw prints and kept a little of his fur, which I later placed in a pendant and wore for many years. I didn't realise then how much that small ritual helped me through my first real experience with grief.

Years later, when my next dog became seriously ill and euthanasia was on the table, everything felt rushed and final. There was no time to say goodbye the way my mother had shown me, and no way to keep a part of him. I realised that in those first hours after a loss, when closure matters most, so many families are left with going home empty-handed.

So I created dolēre: a mourner's kit, offered by the vets who care for our pets, so every family can share a quiet moment together and leave with something to hold.”
